Fine just the way it is : Wyoming Stories 3 by Annie Proulx
”Fine just the way it is” is a superb collection of short stories. With memorable characters in various time periods Annie Proulx describes prospector shacks, modern retirement homes and trailer parks with equal beauty. In a land populated by cowboys and strong willed settlers, each story questions “what is enough”. What is the consequence of choosing money, land, truth and pride over love? At what point can someone conclude they are “fine” and not seek more from life. For the most part, there is sorrow and disappointment at the end of these stories but each are a pleasure to read.
