The Invention of Hugo Cabret

by Brian Selznick

Very intriguing read with characters that you want to triumph. Set in Paris in the 1930’s, follow the adventures of young Hugo who lives in the walls of the train station, maintaining the clocks with his unsavoury uncle. When his uncle disappears it is left up to Hugo to keep everything on time and he discovers that his skills are good for more than fixing clocks when a surprise from his past leads him on an adventure with a new found friend whose mysterious godfather is trying to foil them.
